You’re walking down your favourite tree lined street, rows of orange and red fill all the space around you, some leaves flutter down from the sky, you crunch them under your boots as you start walking towards the cutest little cafe.
The air is cold but you’re so wrapped up cozy that you barely notice it. As you go to pull open the coffee shop door, someones pulling it towards them at the same time, you both make apologies and motion through the glass
‘you pull’,
‘no you push’,
finally you both work it out, he laughs, you laugh, its awkward but in a nice way,
‘shall we do this the same time next week,’ he says both of you laughing still. You keep walking by each other in opposite directions, you going inside and him out.
As you get in line, you turn around and look out the window onto the street and at exactly the same moment, he turns and your eyes meet.
A knowing smile appears on your lips, he looks around him, points at himself, ‘you looking at me’?
You roll your eyes at him, trying to hide that you’re laughing.
Your name is called and you turn back to pick up your drink, the warm coffee scent hits you, steam rising out the mug as you take a sip, letting it warm your face and hands. As you slowly turn back, you look up and he’s there, in front of you.
‘hey…’
Music starts to fill the room and the opening cords begin…
